Shivers

My ride to work is one of my most favourite parts of my day. Those 15 minutes on my bike with no one to talk to and no one to answer too but the crossing guard. Listening to Lucy Rose, wishing I was somewhere else, by the sea. Mondays have a melancholy about them that mingles through my mind confusing the hang over of happiness from the weekend with the impending responsibility of another work week. Sometimes it stays longer based on what I choose to listen too between the hours of 7 & 9am or until my coffee makes its way into my brain erasing the cob webs spun through Sunday nights dreams. Lucy Rose, so sweet, so right. Ear buds in, coffee in hand... my top four, watch TOUR once and then watch it like ten more times... should have been Penny Lane...

A couple things I learnt over the weekend:
1) Jameson is not for ladies & a lady should never try to keep up with the boys when a bottle of Jameson is on the table :$
2) A patio is a place where happiness and laughter reside
3) The definition of Best Friend includes the synonyms Soul Mate & Confidant ( I love this)
4) I have a lot of beautiful women in my life and one of them is having a baby at the end of July. Yesterday we showered her with love.
5) Coffee is one of my favourite things in the world next to floating in the middle of the lake and falling in love.

Have the best week lovelies, K x

life. is. good.

This song. These pics. That quote. A new bike. May weather that rivals the heat of mid-July. A weekend that promises parks, music, good love and baby showers... life. is. good. Happy weekend lovelies... K x

Take me here. Thank you.

We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.”

Making Magic

How many times in your life do you think you’ve uttered the words “that was the best weekend of my entire life”? Tuesday afternoon, and even though getting out of bed this morning was as difficult as it was kissing the lake goodbye last night, you would be hard pressed to find something to take away the gratitude I have in my heart today. For my friends, my creative, brilliant, wonderful friends and all there little eccentricities. May 24 weekend has always marked the beginning of cottage season but in my little world it celebrates my best friends birthday and a weekend with my favourites people under one roof by the most perfect lake.
Its fireworks all over the place - really.
Happy Birthday Bestie Dream Catchers
So on this Monday/Tuesday afternoon I’ve got some new Edward Sharpe to spread around.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy... (follow the link to NPR.. first listen <3)

Happy Tuesday… have an amazing week,

Happy One Hundred

Today marks 100 posts in my little corner of inter-web. I started this blog as an outlet for all the things that make me terribly happy, a place to share music, a place to talk about yoga and health and love and life and all the things that make us feel alive... a place to get inspired and be inspired. On July 7, 2011, I wrote my first post, In Pursuit of Inspiration... the journey through 100 mini essays has brought me more inspiration  more happiness and has hopefully inspired you in some way, shape or form. Thanks for sticking around.
Read my friend David's article on 100 Good ways to Live... seems fitting for today ;)

100 Good Ways to Live

Best. Weekend. and I didn't even go to ANY live shows? Well kind of a lie... Top reasons my weekend was awesome
1) The weather was perfect.
2) I laughed so hard on Saturday night I am pretty sure I can skip plank AND Navasana  for the rest of the week.
3) We were serenaded by the two very talented men at 3am on our walk home from Ossington. Just us, an acoustic guitar, and Bon Jovi. Best. .
3) My friends are the most genuine, awesome, cool people. When you live your truth you attract the people that will support that truth and give you the confidence you need to achieve your dreams!
4) Mothers day.
5) I fell in love with DAUGHTER and now you will too!

'The Wild Youth' EP is out now worldwide! Go. Buy. it. Now.

Bubbles

You know when you know that you know... ugh. Start over. You know when you know you're going to have a weekend full of celebrations? You just know that you're going to be having bubbles on at least two occasions with the people you love? You know?
I had one exciting reason to celebrate yesterday and now another tonight and then it's Mothers day! (which is possibly the best day of the year to celebrate, if you ask me, I freakin' love my little Mum)
So WTF! it's now Saturday and I have managed to devour my favourite brunch with my favourite guy at Starving Artist (mmmm waffles), pick up a temporary (pink!) bike while mine finds its way back to me,  clean my house and fall into bed for a well deserved afternoon nap followed by some yoga in the park before heading over to celebrate the engagement of two of my very best friends. After eleven years he finally put a ring on it. Congrats lovers! Naturally, being a part of a group of girls who have been best friends since we were 14, we are celebrating the big engagement sans the boys with bubbly and sushi... that way we can talk about boys and be silly...just as we've done for the past 16 years.

<3 love to love, Congrats ABF & GS <3
I'm hosting Mothers Day with my sister tomorrow at my little shangri-la. My yoga practice today is in honour of my Mum. For her wisdom, her strength, her laughter, her enormous heart, her endless love, ... and above all for her back tickles ;) Happy Mothers day to all the wonderful Mummy's and to my beautiful Mum's to be, there is no love stronger than that of a mother. Call your Mum. Tell her you love her. Thank her.

Finalement, enjoy the sun. Enjoy the endless patios and beautiful parks. The sounds of birds and the smell of fresh flowers. Roll out your mat in the park, lie in a hammock, look up at the sky, throw your head back and laugh.

Please don't take it personally...

Monday. Blues. You wouldn't be able to tell if you saw me. I got a lot (maybe even too much) sun, felt overwhelmed by the beauty of nature and bathed in the light of the most magical moon I've seen in a very long time. But Monday has me feeling like a very introverted Yogi, a little drained and in need of that kind of music that invigorates your spirit when you can't seem to pull up the outer edges of your lips up.

Kind of just want everyone to shhhhhhh.....

Looking forward to teaching tonight... my mat brings me right back to my heart. A return to self. My students inspire me. Yoga makes my life come back into focus.
Happy Monday

Super Moon... super sexy

I've been slacking with my weekly top five, mainly because life is busy and blogging takes time. This week has been slammed with birthdays, events, yoga and the usual cast of whacky characters in my life.

2)  Tomorrow night at 11:35pm the Moon will be bigger and brighter than it has been all year. Astronomically speaking, a Super Moon means that the Moon is closest to Earth and this one will be the closest of the year. If you are by the ocean and love to surf the tides will be higher on the days surrounding the SuperMoon so your sunday morning session is bound to have you catching barrels and riding high(er).
If you want the scientifics behind the super moon go visit NASA, as for the rest of us... lets dig a little deeper, shall we? As with every full moon, you may find yourself in a tug of war between your intuitive and rational selves, but the polarities between spirit and body will feel even greater due to the Closeness of tomorrows moon. This is a great time to tune into the deep pulls within us, plant the seeds of transformation and than watch how they manifest themselves in our lives over the next 28 days. The other (awesome) thing about the Full Moon is that it is in Scorpio this month, catapulting our deep sexual selves to a higher level of drive! Hot, right? Be prepared to feel your sexual desire rising and indulge :) Whether your spending time with your girlfriends this weekend, your lover or your self, all of the energy that surrounds saturday nights moon will surely leave you with a spiritual sunday hangover. I'll be dancing with Shiva under the stars as close to nature as humanly possibly!
